Florida Teenager Wins 2023 Scripps National Spelling Bee
Dev Shah, a 14-year-old student from Florida, emerged as the champion of the 95th Scripps National Spelling Bee in the US. Dev correctly spelled "psammophile", which refers to an organism that inhabits sandy areas, to secure the victory and a $50,000 prize.
Charlotte Walsh from Virginia finished as the runner-up, stumbling on the word "daviely". The national bee, which saw participation from 11 million contestants, featured a total of eleven students in the finals.
