Nashville's Epic Record-Breaking Year

The NCVC (Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation) has adopted a new visitation estimation model developed by Tourism Economics. This means that comparing current visitation numbers to the NCVC's visitation figures from previous years under the old model would not yield accurate results. Tourism Economics, a subsidiary of Oxford Economics, is a renowned provider of market and impact analysis for over 300 destinations worldwide. Their comprehensive analysis incorporates data from multiple sources, including STR (Smith Travel Research) for hotel room nights sold, AirDNA for short-term rental data, U.S. Census data for second homes used for recreational purposes, visitor data from Nashville International Airport, mobile device geolocation data, and statistics from the National Travel & Tourism Office regarding international visitors. By leveraging these diverse datasets, the NCVC and Tourism Economics aim to provide a more precise understanding of visitation patterns and trends in Nashville.
