Evinrude 35hp Bucket Run

This outboard is a workhouse, as are the rest of the gang that run all the way down to 20hp (because they are all built on the same block). This is an 80s engine, so it has coils and capacitors/triggers under the flywheel, rather than points and condensers. This is the long shaft variant, although if you have a short shaft, you may be lucky enough to find an extension piece that bolts on between the leg and the gearbox. As you can probably see, there’s no electric start on the model, and I’m probably never going to bother adding it. She starts great all the time! The tell-tale had some debris in it and was blocked for this video, but I later knocked that out with an old pine needle. One of the fingers on the reed valve has a minute crack, which I will fix if I ever have reason to remove the carb. So far, the only part I’ve ever had to change with any sort of regularity is the ignition module/power pack: not super expensive, and not hard to replace.
