John Wayne Gacy 1942 – 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered at least 33 young men and boys in Norwood Park Township, Illinois, He was known a pogo the clown a children's entertainer before he gained world wide infamey prior to the discovery of his gruesome criminal activiy

all of his murders took place inside his house in Norwood Park Township. he would lure a victim to his home and con them into being handcuffed by telling them he was gonna show them a magic trick, that they would really love
once the victims were cuffed he would torture and rape his captives before killing them by strangulation or asphyuciation
law enforcement discovered 26 bodies in the crawl space of his ranch style home, 3 more were buried outside on his property
and four more bodies were thrown into the des plaines river

after the trail for his crimes he would be incarerated at Menard Correctional Center, where he remained on death row for 14 years
On the morning of May 9, 1994, Gacy was transferred to Stateville Correctional Center to be executed. That afternoon, he was allowed a picnic on the prison grounds with his family. his last meal was a bucket of kentucy fried chicken, fried shrimp, french fries, strawberries and a Coke. he observed prayer with a Catholic priest, from whom he received the last rites, before being escorted to the Stateville execution chamber to receive a lethal jab on that evening
