Prophecy Friday: Isaiah 24-25- “The Prophet of “Doom”- Impending Judgements - “The End of the Age”

Good morning. Great is His faithfulness. Christ is in our midst.

Greek word of the day- εὐσεβῶς eusebōs, yoo-seb-oce'; adverb from G2152; piously:—godly.

2Ti 3:12

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

See vv. 1-6: The Fathers (Apostles)- they associate this chapter with the end of the present age ("THE LAST DAY", The "END OF THE AGE"). At the Last Judgement, THE INHABITED EARTH in its DESOLATE state will, in effect, will be turned right side up, for "THE LAST WILL BE FIRST, AND THE FIRST LAST" (Matthew 20:16). THE CURSE- has alienated the entire creation from the Creator. See vv. 14-17: in this passage it pictures the message that is in the Book of Acts, where the Apostles will "CRY ALOUD" proclaiming "THE NAME OF THE LORD" wherever they went. See v. 18: God will "SHAKE" the heavens and the earth - "that the things which cannot be shaken may remain" (Hebrews 12:26-27).

vv.21-23: At the end of the age, "GOD WILL BRING HIS HAND UPON" those who will not be humbled of their own free will.

v. 1: AN ANCIENT AND TRUE COUNSEL: here Isaiah praises God for "the mystery which has been hidden from ages" (Colossians 1:26)- the prophet understands this mystery will be one be revealed, the prophet responds in obedience, "SO BE IT, O LORD..."

vv. 2-3: God stood the "UNGODLY", it's not about punishment to the sinners, but to bring them to repentance. The "POOR, and "WRONGED", not the "STRONG" and proud, will "BLESS" and "PRAISE" Him.

v. 8: Humanity's rebellion against "GOD" has given "DEATH" the power to prevail, but Christ will destroy death and then "WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR" (Revelation 21:4).

v. 9: "THIS IS OUR GOD": the Apostle Thomas said in (John 20:28)- "MY LORD AND MY GOD!!!"

vv. 10-12: "THE KING OF GLORY" will "SPREAD FORTH HIS HANDS" upon the Cross in order to "HUMBLE" the "ARROGANCE" of all men. (According to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible)

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;
