Shavuot, Feast of Weeks, modernly referenced as Pentecost

Although denominations have named themselves after Pentecost (Pentecostal) (fiftieth) or the giving of the Holy Spirit, that is an event that happened on one of Gods feasts called Shavuot

There is a major distinction between the two.
One is the feast, one is an event that took place on the feast.

Shavuot is a Major Festival – 2nd of the 3 pilgrimage festivals and comes after Passover or Pesach, and unleavened bread.
It is the giving of the Torah from god to Israel some 3350 years ago to Israel on Mt Sinai
In Hebrew Shavuot means weeks representing the 7 weeks during which Israel prepared themselves for the giving or receiving of Torah.
