Karim Benzema refused to be drawn into rumours about a possible departure to Saudi Arabia after 14 years at Real Madrid.

The Golden Ball holder received the Marca Legends Award on Thursday, a trophy to honour his career and acknowledge his contribution to football in Spain.

The Frenchman has been in the spotlight for his reported links to a move to Saudi Arabia.

"Why should I speak about my future when I'm at Real Madrid?" he said.

"It's the internet talking, and the internet is not reality," he added when told by a reporter that there is talk about his departure.

Madrid’s last La Liga game of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium could potentially be the last appearances for the pillars of its multiple Champions Leagues over the past decade.

Alongside Benzema there is Luka Modric, both Ballon d’Or winners, as well as Toni Kroos and Marco Asensio, are all on contracts that expire at the end of June.

The club and players have reportedly been in talks about their futures, but nothing has officially been decided.
