Splitknot - Iowa

Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade.

Slipknot is well known for its attention-grabbing image, aggressive style of music, and energetic and chaotic live shows. . In early 2001, the band began recording the second album at Sound City and Sound Image studios in Los Angeles.

Recording of their second album ended in February 2001 and the band embarked on their Iowa World Tour. Entitled Iowa, Slipknot's second album—released on August 2001—peaked at number three on the Billboard charts and at number one in the UK.
