Festus’s Plan- As Orthodox Christians We Pray in Confidence to- The Father- The Son The Holy Spirit

Good morning. Great is His faithfulness. Christ is in our midst.

Greek word of the day- ἐλευθερόω eleutheróō, el-yoo-ther-o'-o; from G1658; to liberate, i.e. (figuratively) to exempt (from moral, ceremonial or mortal liability):—deliver, make free.

Jhn 8:32

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Acts 25:13-19- "At This Time St. Paul had been Imprisoned for Two Years"

In v. 13- KING AGRIPPA: is Herod Agrippa II, the ruler of Galilee. He is also the son of Herod Agrippa I -(see Acts 12:1-23), the one who beheaded James and was the one who also imprisoned Peter, and he is the grandson of Herod the Great - (Matthew 2:1), who slaughtered all the innocent infants in Bethlehem. BERNICE is Agrippa's sister.

We see in v. 18: AS I SUPPOSED: the burden that was placed by the entire Jewish Council, Festus is assuming that Paul must have committed some staggering crimes.

John 16:23-33- "Death, Resurrection, Ascension Foretold"

See v. 25: THE TIME: this is when Christ would speak PAINLY ABOUT THE FATHER was during the 40 days following our Lord's Resurrection- (Acts 1:3).

See vv. 26-28: Prayer is offered in the Name of God the Father, Christ taught us to pray that way (Matthew 6:9), Christ Himself prayed to the Father (John 11:41, John 12:28- John 17:1). Christ gives us direct access to the Father, and so we pray in the Name of the Son as well -( John 14:13-14). It was after Pentecost we learn that the Holy Sprit Himself "makes intercession for us"(Romans 8:26), and so we are instructed to pray always "in the Spirit" (Ephesians 6:18).

"As Orthodox Christians we pray continually and with extreme confidence in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit."

Reading from Psalm 18(19)

Psalm 18(19): "Their [c]line has gone out through all the earth,And their words to the end of the world.

In them He has set a [d]tabernacle for the sun,5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.6 Its rising is from one end of heaven,And its circuit to the other end;And there is nothing hidden from its heat."

"Today be strong in the Lord, and be like a strong individual ready to run your race. Our faith is endurance like running in a marathon- it's no sprint. It doesn't matter where you start but where we all finish- our finish line is in the Light of Christ."

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
