Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) appeared on Newsmax with a threat to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) if he passes a debt ceiling bill with the help of Democrats. Gaetz said that if a majority of Republicans are against a piece of legislation and it is passed with the help of Democrats, that would be a violation of the deal that was made with McCarthy to allow him to become Speaker. Gaetz added that this would likely trigger an immediate motion to vacate McCarthy's position.
