Scientists are researching ancient viruses and bacteria found in melting permafrost. The idea is to be prepared if one of these pathogens survives defrosting and infects humans, leading to a pandemic. That’s great. The problem is they’re reanimating these pathogens and regaining their ability to function. What could go wrong?
