Kimura Trap Counter to Single Leg.

This is a high-percentage counter to the single leg used frequently by Masahiko Kimura, the great judo-ka and close friend of Sosai Mas Oyama. It was known as the Kaiten Ude-Garami. I think David Avellan made the name Kimura Trap popular. He had a lot of success with it in competition.

Take your time getting the steps right, then gradually speed it up. Experiment with different finishes. Here, I finish with a standard cross-body Kimura, a Danaher-style cross-body Kimura, and a leg scissors. All high percentage finishes off the Kimura Trap. I also have a lot of success with a nearside Kimura I'll demonstrate in another video.
