Azolla is an amazing plant. It is a floating water fern that fixes nitrogen. This means it can be both mulch and fertilizer. It is high protein and almost all livestock sill eat it. Since it floats on water you never have to water it. It has one weakness and that is too much sun can kill it. Here I show you azolla in a common system and you can clearly see the damage done to it based on high solar exposure.
