Left Nostril Breath:

When we breathe through the left nostril, the right hemisphere of the brain has been shown to be more active.
The right hemisphere function is thought to be responsible for access to present moment awareness/mindfulness, creativity, and relationships. The benefits of left nostril breathing are numerous including sharper, clearer focus of the mind, and a deep, full relaxation or sleep. The left nostril tissue stimulates feedback to the parasympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system, the one that affects our desire to rest or digest.

Sit somewhere comfortable, clear your mind, breathe through your left nose only, and focus on your breathing.

🌀 Inhale 5 Seconds
🌀 Exhale 5 Seconds
With practice, increase the length of breathing to 8 seconds.
