Upgrading The Snowblower On Our Kubota BX? Help Me Out!

Our Kubota BX2822 55 inch Commercial Blower is great overall, but leaves a little bit to be desired early on in the year. I am thinking of installing a cutting edge made of 2 inch gas pipe, rather than figure out a way to mount a vertical rubber cutting edge. What are your thoughts?
