Old Forest Road: After the Storms

Checking out the Old Forest Road, that runs up to GeoCache GC75BP8. Quite a few more trees have come down in the recent storms, even more than when I went up earlier this year.

I had noticed another old road branching off this road on the USGS hill shade map of this area. I managed to drop down onto that road while hiking up the side of the canyon to get over more fallen trees. Not sure what this road was built for, it just seems to go down the canyon a ways and stop.

It took 4 times as long to get up this road as usual and about 3 times the distance due to all the up and down to get around fallen trees.

Seeing more of these older multi-trunked trees that are likely left over from charcoal and tannin production from the late 1800s.

More to come...
