Cooking From Scratch: The Importance of Cooking From Scratch

Our family has taken an indefinite break from eating foods not prepared in our home. This has been pretty challenging and has caused us to make some big lifestyle changes.

Chemicals are immersed in almost everything sold in stores, including things labeled “organic.” So we set out to buy our food from local, organic farmers as much as we can as well as what we produce at home.

We’re about 8 weeks in and have worked out a lot of the kinks from such a big change for our family of 7.

Eventually our goal is to eat only what is grown on our own land, but until that time we have found a good starting point.
