"They Want to Take Away Parents' Rights": FDNY Capt Brendan Fogarty Speaks at Rally in Albany, NY

On May 16, 2023, a group of New Yorkers rallied in support of medical freedom and to protest current legislative efforts at East Capitol Park, in Albany. Members of several groups that oppose vaccine mandates attended and spoke at the event, including Teachers for Choice, Bravest for Choice, New York Freedom Rally, Educators for Freedom, and Children's Health Defense.

FDNY Captain Brendan Fogarty of Bravest for Choice spoke at the event. He was pushed into early retirement when he refused to comply with NYC's COVID vaccine mandate, but was recently able to return to work.

Earlier the same day, some of the protesters attended a New York State Assembly Health Committee hearing, where two bills of the bills they are opposing were passed by the committee:

A276, which would give minors the right to consent to treatments and vaccinations against STDs (without consent of a parent or guardian)
