The Mute Christian under the Smarting Rod of God Jeremiah 2:29

In Jeremiah 2 we find the Lord giving the same teachings a in Isaiah 1-2 where he tells his people that he cannot chastise them anymore as they will not repent. How often is someone under the correcting hand of God and they do no even recognize it.
