Target Hunger is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year in our city. Staff from the Lethbridge and Interfaith Food Banks say they are hoping to raise 60,000 pounds of food this time around.

The event will take place on June 10th with volunteers dropping off yellow bags at houses around the city just a few days before.

You can then deposit in as many non-perishable food items as possible in each bag.

Mac Nichol, the executive director of the Lethbridge Food Bank, says they are in dire need of more volunteers to help with this fundraiser.

Nichol says the food banks are looking for canned fruit, soups and meats. There is also a need for Kraft dinners and other pastas.
