We went to the homeless tent city, or encampment, at Crab Park on the edge of the city of Vancouver, BC. While we were there, we ran into a CBC News crew and saw them live trying to spin the narrative to turn an issue that is affecting the entire city into something completely different.
We were also questioned as to why we were there taking pictures, and ushered out by an 'advocate' for the homeless encampment.

To let people who are struggling with mental illness and addiction stay that way and offer no help to recover or manage their issues is NOT compassionate, much less to encourage the situation to grow into what it has and will continue to.
With the decriminalization of drugs in British Columbia this year, we will continue to see this situation grow, either into an unmanageable threat for the entire population, or into an excuse to expand the government's MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying) euthanasia service for the homeless and addicted population as well.
