Canada: Federal ministers announce support for Indigenous survivors of crime – May 29, 2023

At a news conference on Parliament Hill, federal ministers David Lametti (justice) and Marc Miller (Crown-Indigenous relations) announce $95.8 million over five years and $20.4 million starting in 2023-24 to support families of missing and murdered Indigenous people and Indigenous victims of crime. They are joined by Gary Anandasangaree (parliamentary secretary to the minister of justice) and Hilda Anderson-Pyrz (chair of the National Family and Survivors Circle).
