Standing Closed Guard Pass: The Strongest Way To Pass. Training with Shihan Cameron Quinn

Whilst it is an important part of fundamental skill development to learn how to pass the closed from a seated position, as the standard of your training partners increases, so does the difficulty of passing the guard from a seated position.

Here are two standing passes that you will see even at the highest level of competition. These, combined with the armpit control and knee post pass (already posted here on my channel), serve as a very strong standing pass foundation that will serve you well from white to black belt. Remember, there are no black belt techniques, per se, just black ways of doing the same fundamentals you learn at white belt. So study these well and keep improving them over time.
