Rough but Unique 1981 General Oiltronic Hydraulic Elevator at The Galleria (Myrtle Beach, SC)

This was a last second stop that I almost couldn't get to, but found a way around to get to this hidden gem.

While driving around the upper part of Myrtle, I saw what looked like an office building close by to a Kroger and other shops, which is weird. I eventually came here to see the parking lot mostly empty (hence you can see my Ferguson Altima Mobile in the distance while riding the elevator lol). I tried getting into the building on the left side to no avail. The right set of doors was thankfully open and I finally got to see this thing upfront. I don't think that door was meant to be unlocked, but hey, not my problem.

Most Generals I see typically have GAL, EPCO, or rarely Armor Fixtures. THIS ONE though is more unique since it seems to be using Generals Own Fixtures (minus a replacement JetPlus button)! This elevator is also scenic and has a really epic looking stairway and a look out into the parking lot! Too bad the elevator itself is in a rough and worn state, either by very little maintenance or how rarely this elevator is used. Oh well, this is still a really neat last minute find that I'm glad I got to experience!

FUN FACT: A 2 Story General Oiltronic is nearby this one, but it is likely in limited operation since it's connected to a church.
