The story of the "Event of the Cow" is narrated in the Quran in Chapter 2, verses 67-73. It is also known as the story of the golden calf.

According to the story, Hazrat Musa (A.S) was sent by Allah (SWT) to deliver the message of monotheism to the Children of Israel who were living in Egypt under the oppression of Pharaoh. After leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt, Hazrat Musa (A.S) took them to Mount Sinai where Allah (SWT) revealed the Torah to him.

While Hazrat Musa (A.S) was on the mountain, some of the Children of Israel began to worship a golden calf that they had made. This act of idolatry angered Allah (SWT) and Hazrat Musa (A.S) broke the tablets on which the Torah was written. He then ordered his followers to kill those who were involved in the worship of the golden calf.

Hazrat Musa (A.S) then prayed to Allah (SWT) to forgive the Children of Israel, and Allah (SWT) forgave them. He then ordered Hazrat Musa (A.S) to carve out a cow and to strike a dead man with a part of it. This was a test to see if the Children of Israel were truly repentant for their actions. After much reluctance, they finally carried out this command, and the dead man came back to life.

This event is considered significant because it shows the importance of obedience to Allah (SWT) and the consequences of disobedience. It also serves as a reminder that true repentance requires action, not just words.
