Man Sues $2 Billion Powerball Winner, Claiming Stolen Ticket

The winner of the $2 billion US Powerball lottery draw is facing a lawsuit from a man who claims the winning ticket was stolen from him. Edwin Castro, the jackpot winner from California, chose to receive the prize in a lump sum of $997.6 million.

Jose Rivera, another Californian, filed a civil complaint alleging that he purchased the winning ticket and it was later stolen by someone other than Mr. Castro. The California Lottery has expressed confidence in Mr. Castro's status as the rightful winner.
