Mushrooms: Plant Something Different- Outdoor Grow

I was gifted some Wine Cap (Stropharia rugosoannulata) a choice edible mushroom. Better than a Portabella and a GREAT addition to the garden beds. Make use of helping the process of breaking down the hardwood compost with some added speed and a benefit of some extra food for the dinner plate.

I decided to make a outdoor bed to expand the mycelium and in hopes to harvest some fruiting bodies this year. If no fruiting bodies occur I will stir up the bed to trigger a stress response in hopes it will later want to send out a fruiting body. Regardless, the bed will also be part of the composting cycle so I can spread this all over the yard and further expand on this amazing creature that helps break down so much organic material to make the gardens more fertile.
