The Coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost

Today, We Celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, Commemorating the Descent of The Holy Spirit on The Apostles as They Gathered Together in One Place. We Hear in The First Reading About the Miraculous Sound of The Mighty Wind and Tongues of Fire That Descended in The House They Were In.

Everyone Marveled as All Those Who Were Present Heard the Apostles Speaking in Their Own Language About the Marvelous Works of God. In The Responsorial Psalm, We Join the Psalmist in Offering a Hymn of Praise to God. We Thank God for His Manifold Works and For Blessing Us with The Gift of His Spirit. In The Second Reading, Paul Reminds Us That Through the Holy Spirit, The Same Spirit, We All Become One Body in Christ.

By This Spirit, We Are All Embedded in The Same Faith and United in Christ Despite Our Different Gifts and Roles. In The Gospel, Jesus Demonstrates His Mercy and Forgiveness, Sending Us to Go Forth and Mend Lives and Proclaim the Good News of His Love. He Breathes on Us His Spirit, Giving Us the Courage and Strength to Forgive the Sins of Others and Lead People Closer to God. Today, We Ask the Lord to Open Our Hearts and Soul, To Fill Us with His Spirit and Fill Our Lives with Divine Peace and Guidance.
