Putin advocates the creation of a Eurasian Credit Rating Agency
25 May 23 Russian President Vladimir Putin suggests setting up a rating agency for Eurasian Economic Union countries.
Currently, the market for international credit ratings is dominated by three US-based agencies: Moody’s Investor Services, Standard and Poor’s (S&P), and Fitch Group. Countries outside the West have accused them of economic and political bias when it comes to assessing their markets.
When creating such an agency it would be necessary to take into account "fundamental approaches, rigorous criteria and the ability follow those criteria." "This work would have to be absolutely objective, that's the whole point of it. Otherwise it just wouldn't make sense," he said.
