Many MMA fans prefer submissions over knockouts. However, even the biggest fan of submission wins despises Rousimar Palhares. He is so good on the ground that most fighters avoid taking the fight there. 16 of his 19 wins have come via submissions and 12 of them have been through leg locks. He may be the best in the world at this but his attitude is just terrible. He is notorious for not letting go of his opponents caught in a submission hold well after the referee has called the fight. Almost every single time, the officials have had to wrestle him to get him to release the hold. Despite the UFC firing him for doing this to Mike Pearce in 2013, there has been no change in his attitude. The good thing is that fighters have now learnt to knock him out clean before he can even think of a leg lock. This is evident by just 1 win and 6 KO losses in his last 8 fights.
