5. Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford were drunk the morning they filmed their arrival at Cloud City. Eric Idle had invited Fisher, who in turn invited Ford, to hang out with him and The Rolling Stones the night before. It went like you’d expect and the two pulled an all-nighter.

When it didn’t work, one of the prop guys had an idea that worked perfectly: he moved the arm around himself with a long fishing pole and string.

1. Mark Hamill’s severed head looked so real in the cave scene on Dagobah...because it was. The prop head proved unconvincing and was scrapped, so Hamill stuck his head through a hole in the set floor as he stood below.
