I met Lance Olsen on Top Ten Promotions and Lance very kindly suggested we collaborate on some projects of which this is the third track. We decided to create a band called D.O.D. with band members being De'flern Olsen de'Smidt.

Lance had listened to one of my classical tracks and he said that he did not realize that I had some classical training. He asked could I do a classical track but to a consistent beat. He relished the challenge of producing a jazz track from the piano that I sent him.

I send him single piano, two track pianos and three track pianos in different sections. The resulting song is the result of that collaboration of Lance mixing arranging and playing instruments off the tracks that I sent.,

Paul deSmidt then added the excellent drums to finish the track. Lance came up with the name Magnetic fields after I outlined the story that the track had inspired me. There is a part of the track that I felt strongly dissonant but I thought that would be a great part of the story I wanted to tell via AI Images and stock Video. This is the part where I added a meteor storm at the colonese space ships and the danger that brung to the people there.

Paul had an excellent drum solo that was just fat and relentless but I could hear that Lance had put the pianos down in the mix underneath the mix. I asked whether we could add some brief piano parts as if dolphins were dancing with the ship in that section. You can hear for yourself the result towards the end of the track. I was delighted to add space dolphins to the AI art which did feature in Underneath the Universe to.

(Underneath the Universe as well as all D.O.D. tracks can be found on both my channel and Lances.)

I used the Akai MPC Live 2 for all my tracks,
