Sons and Servants in Proverbs 29:21

Whoever pampers his servant from childhood will in the end find him his heir.
Proverbs 29:21 ESV

This proverb goes against the American grain, but American culture is an historical aberration. In cultures where servants and slaves are commonplace, it's important to keep a strict separation between family and the help.

There's also another interpretation of this proverb, one in which it's a good thing for servants to become heirs. Listen in as the Common Sense Bible Study crew discusses both aspects and what they mean for us today.
