Our fish stocks are depleting and we as recreational shore anglers are to blame! The long term statistics prove it through impact studies that has been done in MPA's (Marine Protected Areas) such as De Hoop Nature reserve.

I had the privilege to fish De Hoop MPA on a recent tagging project! On this trip I was fortunate to have the opportunity to talk to Prof. Colin Atwood from UCT and Lieze Swart from the department of Forestry, Environment and Fisheries.

We talk about the impact shore anglers has had on fish populations, we touch on proper fish handling as well as the correct way to tag fish and what is the way forward to insure that we don't decimate our fish stocks completely!

Together we can save the fish! Let us all work together to promote sustainable and ethical fishing behaviour!
