"I am my ..."

[Romantic / Aspirational Poem Collection] -
This phrase “I am my husband’s wife” was used by a friend, whose second language is English, as she introduced herself to the proprietor of Giant’s Causeway Cottages at a group weekend get-away. While we enjoyed the ‘fun’ in it … the phrase also has a simple truthful accuracy and beauty along with a joyful pride. Poem wording -

I Am My ..

“I am my husband’s wife”.
I am my husband’s love.
I am his life.
His friend.
His strife.
His horror.
His delight.
His balm, through any a dark night.
I am his good morning … and his goodnight.
I both whet and feed his appetites.
I am for him … and he is for me.
I am one, as is he. Both free.
Together, we enjoy love’s journey and mystery.
I am … and I love him ... joyfully.
