Erling Haaland conceded on Thursday (25th May) that he didn't expect his maiden season with Manchester City to go quite this well.

Speaking after collecting his Football Writers Association (FWA) Player of the Year trophy - becoming one of the first players to win the award for their first Premier League season - the Norwegian had plenty of positives to reflect on.

Having won the Premier League with something to spare, Manchester City remain on course to capture a rare treble with the FA Cup and Champions League finals awaiting them.

Haaland knew the quality of the team he was joining, but the heights he has reached personally have been impressive - taking just 14 games to score his first 20 Premier League goals, and scoring more than 50 across all competitions are just a couple of the plethora of records he now holds.

He was also quick to dismiss any pressure that goes with the favourites tag, insisting that the side have the qualities to deserve that and should embrace it.

They take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final on 3rd June, before facing Inter Milan in the Champions League final seven days later
