Become a Time Lord: Mastering Date Functions in Microsoft Access

As a database administrator or a user, I've found that one of the most common challenges people face is fully utilizing date functions in Microsoft Access. It's clear to me that many users want to better understand how to manipulate date fields effectively for generating reports, calculating future dates, identifying past-due bills, and determining employee tenure.

In the video, I provide a detailed tutorial on the power and versatility of date functions in Microsoft Access. I start with the basics, demonstrating how to create queries and manipulate date fields in a database. I believe this foundational understanding is crucial for anyone working with databases.

From there, I show how these functions can be used to perform practical tasks like calculating how far into the future a specific date is, determining if a bill is past due, or determining an employee's tenure. I also demonstrate how to extract particular date elements like year, month, and day, and how to reassemble these elements using the DateSerial function.

I've made this video because I want to help you see that there's a lot you can do with just a date field. Whether you have date information separately or together, you can manipulate it, do math with it, and treat a date as a regular piece of mathematical number. I hope you find this video helpful, and I appreciate any likes or shares to help get this tutorial out to more people.
