You cannot violate a principle, then step into a leadership role and ask your opponents to hold to the same principle.

There may be times where a protest requires the violation of norms such as decorum, but choosing to engage in the protest means you must accept a diminished ability to lead in the future application of such norms.

Also, the debt limit fight is stupid and short sighted, Democrats want a license to fully immerse the US economy in Modern Monetary Theory, Republicans are trying to pump the brakes. If the Democrats succeed they’ll bring unprecedented economic pain to America with the exception of the oligarchy at the very top. If the Republican’s succeed then we’ll still give the Democrats what they want, it will just take a little longer.
