During a Department of Defense press conference Thursday, General Mark Milley warned that a government default would negatively impact U.S. national security and lead to international reputational damage. Gen. Milley said there would be a “very significant negative impact” on the readiness, morale, and capabilities of the U.S. military if the government defaulted.
