The Fire of Love: Pentecost Sunday

In his reflection for Pentecost Sunday, Tony Crescio ( @anthonycrescio ) reflects on the episode of the descent of the Holy Spirit as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles in light of the Old Testament accounts of creation and the Tower of Babel episode in the Book of Genesis. As Tony explains, when these episodes of salvation history are brought into conversation with one another, the very basics of spiritual physics come to light. Sin is revealed as a perverse imitation of God that causes division, while the grace of the Holy Spirit enables us to live lives of Divine Love and become agents of forgiveness and healing in the world, so that the human family might be united in one diverse body as God intended from the beginning.
