Puketapu Couple Found 4 Days After Listed Missing

On the 27th of Feb I reported for Counterspin Media (https://t.me/CounterspinMediaNZ) and shared a story of a couple who had been listed as missing in Hawkes Bay, here is that report.

Bane and Avril from Moteo Pa were on the missing persons list for 4 days before they were able to make contact with family and friends.

"The scary thing to, is that family couldn't find each other, that was the worst thing of the lot. It was days before our family found us and we had gone on the list that was missing".

Avril also mentioned that 111 were called...to no avail. She said they asked her what was her call about to which she responded "flooding" and was put on hold.

The couple gave thanks to their local marae for the support they provided and to those who have continued help them since.

Despite the carnage left by torrential waters, people power has overcome yet again, proving unity in the community is indeed alive and well in the Hawkes Bay.
