Pulled a calf today

👀Look who calved...FINALLY!🎉

Been a long time coming y'all, Naomi has really drug this thing out for a long time. But she calved today and ended up needing some help.

We were mostly prepared as we kind of expected to pull her 1st calf mainly because she was bred to an older more mature angus bull (from what we were told) and wasn't sure how big this calf would be for her to pass.

Yall Naomi is small, she's practically a mini jersey, a 1st calf heifer and that combo in itself is hard. So while we were prepared we still needed some extra help as we didn't have the big pullers yet. So called our rad neighbor, Zane, and he came out to help/come to the rescue.

Sure glad he came to help cuz her hips were tight and this calf was tall and lanky for her size so was a kind of hard pull...he wasn't that big/heavy...just more than what she could handle. Took a bit but got him out and all is well! Naomi is a rad momma and they're both doing great. All healthy, happy and alive!

We also got absolutely dumped on with rain last night so everything is drenched at the moment and now trying to keep them 2 dry. So glad he's here, it's a bull calf btw, and everyone is healthy!

Stay tuned for more updates and tons of baby pics 📸 we'll be giving her about 1.5-2 wks (with milking her to keep her drained out) and then we'll be officially on milking duty....eeek I'm so excited!!!
