Tina Turner Dies: Legendary Rock & Soul Singer Was 83

Tina Turner, renowned as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll for her electrifying performances and fiercely soulful vocals, passed away today at her residence in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. She was 83 years old.

“In her, the world mourns the loss of a musical legend and an inspirational figure,” expressed Bernard Doherty, her spokesperson in the United Kingdom, through a statement.

In 2016, Turner was diagnosed with intestinal cancer and underwent a kidney transplant in 2017, battling bravely against her illness, Deadline reported.
