Holding pads
Grappling arts and striking arts both have unspoken ‘off the mat’ benefit. Confidence is obvious but in the heat of the moment and your in the midst of a fight grappling arts give you the ability to know where the person is going, and set up traps and break limbs.
Striking Art is just as beautiful.
I’ve learned that the most essential part, other than practicing - is holding pads for your partner. •
KEY TAKE AWAY:
1️⃣ learn how to mimic your partner
2️⃣ mimic a fight see openings take note of what you could execute if you were in a fight.
3️⃣ watch torso upside down triangle🔽shoulders and hip.
4️⃣able to control pace. Learn your range.
5️⃣ not flinch when attacks come toward you. Become comfortable with punches and kicks being thrown at you.
6️⃣ have your own flair/ your own style holding
7️⃣ reading your opponent and working with individuals who have less experience builds repetition muscle memory and confidence it also helps you with awareness reading people’s body on street anticipating their movement. It’s fun but weird in public.
