Half of Ethereum is near CIA and White House

Did you know there are nearly 10,000 nodes running Ethereum in the world? Out of the 10,000, half are based in the US, and half of that is based in a single data center in Virginia, which is 20 minutes away from the CIA headquarters and the white house. Not so decentralized, ha? That’s why ether.fi started the “Solo Stakers” program. Only 12 spots up for grabs to help decentralize Ethereum.

Ether.fi is a liquid staking protocol where stakers keep control of their keys while delegating staking to node operators. For the Solo Staker program, ether.fi will deposit 96 $ETH to each validator. A total of 450 people from 75 countries applied to become a Solo Staker and only 12 applicants made the cut. And guess what, I’m one of them. Hong-Kong, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Canada, Australia, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Thailand, England and the Netherlands will now further decentralize Ethereum.
