David Boyd, a man who murdered a seven-year-old girl in Sunderland in 1992, has been jailed for at least 29 years.

Boyd lured Nikki Allan to a warehouse in the city's East End before beating her with a brick and stabbing her in the chest 37 times.

After hiding his crime for more than three decades, a jury unanimously found Boyd guilty earlier in May.
