Dead Space is a franchise created by Glen Schofield, produced by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts. The franchise focuses on the survival horror video game series, it also includes two films, comic series and books. The game takes place in a science fiction universe of the 26th century[1], with environments, weapons and characters typical of the genre. The chronology of the series is not presented in a linear format, with sections of the plot presented in prequel or sequel form, and in different mediums parallel to video games. Broadly speaking, the series centers on a man named Isaac Clarke and the horrors that surround him. So far, the series has been critically and commercially successful, selling over 8.0 million copies, the first game and its sequel have received highly positive reviews from most critics, and the first game has received a number of industry awards for many different elements of its gameplay and development.
History

The series takes place in outer space. The first game is played aboard the USG Ishimura, a spacecraft orbiting a distant planet called Aegis VII, moving towards a colony on the planet itself. The second game is set on Sprawl Titan, a city on a moon of Saturn. Prequels and sequels take place in one of these two settings. Dead Space 3 takes place primarily on Tau Volantis, an ice-covered planet whose colony went dark 200 years ago and is never heard from again.
Characters

Isaac Clarke is the main protagonist of the Dead Space series. Originally a systems engineer on the ship, his life takes a turn for the worse when a seemingly routine repair mission becomes a struggle to survive the scourge of the Necromorphs.
