A kitten is a young cat. At birth, kittens exhibit primal instincts and are completely dependent on their mother for survival. They usually do not open their eyes for seven to ten days. After about two weeks, the kittens develop rapidly and begin to explore the world outside their nest. After three to four weeks, they start eating solid foods and growing baby teeth. Domesticated puppies are very social animals and usually enjoy the company of people.
