In this remake of the Spencer Tracy classic, George and Nina Banks are the parents of young wife-to-be Annie. George is a nervous father unready to face the fact that she is now a woman. The preparations for the extravagant wedding provide additional comic moments.

Family trouble continues to plague George Banks. Having survived his daughter's marriage in the first film, he must now deal with her pregnancy. To complicate matters, his wife Nina is pregnant as well!
