Seymour Melman - Anti-war activist

Seems little has changed in the US in the last 40 years and the war economy expanded considerably. This is a clip from a 1991 conference put on by the National Commission for Economic Conversion and Disarmament. The focus is on [the late] Seymour Melman, a professor at Columbia University who spent a large part of his career working on disarmament and the conversion of the economy from a military economy to a civilian economy.

The big joke of it all was that the conversion of the "military economy" was to be carried out by defense contractors. The civilian economy was "sustainable development". So what did the defense contractors do? They weaponized our infrastructure and built a police state control system. What else would you expect them to do?
